There is a table in Cape Town that takes six weeks to book. This November, the same kitchen will hand you its signature dish in about four minutes.

That is the promise at the heart of Taste of Cape Town, the two day food and lifestyle festival arriving at Green Point Cricket Club on 28 and 29 November 2026. One ticket buys entry to a ground where twelve of the city’s hardest reservations cook side by side in the open, with eleven hours of trading each day to taste your way through them. No waiting list. No kitchen door. The chef finishes your plate an arm’s length from where you stand.

The festival carries serious lineage. The Taste series has filled grounds in more than 20 cities, from London to Paris, Sao Paulo and Dubai, and it arrives in the Mother City under the exclusive South African licence held by The Allure Group through IMG. The Cape Town edition is built on a single idea: Feed Every Sense. Five zones, one for each sense, carry guests from the smell of wood fire at the gate to the festival’s signature moment, the Sundown Ritual, when the music pauses, the whole ground turns west, and thousands of glasses rise together as the sun touches Signal Hill.

At the end of July, the festival will announce a further wave of elements joining the programme. Two can be revealed now.

Taste School is the festival’s masterclass theatre, where the same chefs cooking across the ground step out of their kitchens to teach. Sessions run throughout both days in small groups, close enough to see the pan: knife work, plating, pairing wine with what you have just cooked, and the tricks restaurants never write down. Guests leave with flour on their hands and at least one dish they can actually repeat at home.

Slow Life is the festival’s answer to festival pace. A stretch of lawn set with long tables under the trees, acoustic sets instead of a main stage, winemakers pouring and talking rather than serving and moving on. It is the corner of the ground where nobody checks the time, built for the long lunch Cape Town does better than anywhere in the world.

And because the best food memories start early, children under 12 enter free.

For guests who want the weekend at full volume, the festival has opened sales of the Taste Lux Pass at R895 per person. The pass includes two Signature Dish Vouchers, one Exclusive Dish Voucher and a welcome drink on arrival, which means the best plates on the ground are already paid for before you walk through the gate.

Tickets are on sale now at www.tasteofcapetown.com and through Quicket. For more information, partnership enquiries or media requests, email info@thealluregroup.co.za.

Gates open at 11h00 and trading runs to 22h00 on both days. Cape Town has been meaning to book these restaurants all year. In November, the restaurants come to Cape Town.

There is a particular kind of craving that has nothing to do with an empty stomach.

It is the craving that seizes you when wood smoke drifts across a crowded market and your feet stop before your mind does. When a chef places something before you that you have never encountered, and you know even before you taste it that something important is about to happen. When a musician hits the note the crowd did not know they were waiting for, and the air itself changes.

That craving? Cape Town has always understood it. And on 28 and 29 November 2026, at the spectacular Green Point Cricket Club, where the Atlantic Ocean breathes across the grounds and reminds you exactly where on earth you are, Taste of Cape Town 2026 intends to feed it.

This is Africa’s most sensory food and lifestyle festival, where the finest South African flavours, live music that moves through you, culinary arts at their most dazzling, intoxicating aromas layered across open air, and hands-on craft experiences collide over one extraordinary weekend in Cape Town.

Produced by The Allure Group, Taste of Cape Town takes its place at Green Point Cricket Club with a vision that raises the bar for what a festival on this continent can be. This is not a food fair with a stage in the corner. It is our intent to stage the most ambitious food and lifestyle experience ever seen on African soil, built around the complete sensory architecture of what it means to truly eat, hear, see, smell, and touch something extraordinary.

“Cape Town is one of the world’s great food cities. We are not building a food fair, we are building the definitive food and lifestyle experience on this continent. Taste of Cape Town exists to set a standard, and in November 2026, we intend to set it in a way this city will not forget.” — Bonnke Shipalana, CEO at The Allure Group

Taste of Cape Town 2026 will be powered by Independent Media, South Africa’s leading multi-platform content company in conjunction with Condé Nast, reaching millions of readers across print, digital, and broadcast. Together, they bring unmatched editorial authority, audience reach, and content firepower to amplify the festival’s voice from Cape Town to the world.

“Independent Media is proud to power a festival that celebrates African excellence, puts South African talent on the world stage, and creates memories that our audiences will be talking about for years. This is the kind of story we exist to tell.” — Independent Media, Official Media Partner, Taste of Cape Town 2026

The chef roster for 2026 will be announced in stages from July. What can be confirmed now is this: the standard being set here is not a regional one. Cape Town is one of the world’s great food cities and this festival will prove it to anyone who has yet to arrive.

Early bird tickets are now available at www.tasteofcapetown.com. VIP festival experiences and chef masterclass tickets will be released in phases from June 2026.  For more information, email info@thealluregroup.co.za

Why Cape Town has earned the right to host the best food and lifestyle festival on earth, and why it was always going to happen here

Somewhere in this city, right now, a fire is going. Line-caught kingklip searing over open flame at a chef’s table above the Atlantic. A Cape Malay tasting menu unfolding spice by spice in a Bo-Kaap kitchen that has guarded its craft for generations. A bottle from a Constantia estate being decanted to meet a dish plated with the kind of precision that wins the world’s attention. Cape Town does not need to be told it is a great food city. It has been quietly proving it, at the highest level, for as long as anyone can remember.

When the question is asked, where on earth should the best food and lifestyle festival in the world be held, the honest answer is the one this city has been living all along. Here. Some cities have to manufacture a food culture. Cape Town has to manage one. This is a city where the ocean delivers the menu, where the wine country starts where the suburbs end, where a single street can carry the cooking of four continents and call all of it local. The world’s most celebrated food festival series has spent two decades looking for cities worthy of its name. It found one at the bottom of Africa, between a mountain and an ocean, that was already doing the work.

So, when we tell you that Taste of Cape Town arrives at Green Point Cricket Club on 28 and 29 November 2026, understand what we are not saying. We are not announcing the arrival of something from elsewhere. We are returning something to the people it always belonged to. This festival is built in honour of the city that became one of the great culinary capitals on earth, often without anyone watching. Early bird Taste Entry Passes are on sale now from R400 per person at www.tasteofcapetown.com, with VIP experiences and chef masterclass tickets released in phases from June 2026.

BUILT ON CAPE TOWN, BY CAPE TOWN

Taste of Cape Town is produced by The Allure Group, a proudly South African agency. The restaurants on these grounds are this city’s own. The chefs are the ones whose kitchens already define the Cape table, whose names already travel the world. The artisan producers are the makers who have shaped this region’s food and wine with a care that has only recently been called a movement. And the music is the sound of a Cape Town November evening, with the ocean close enough to taste.

This is what Feed Every Sense truly means here. The scent of open fire carried on the wind. The quiet confidence of a room that knows exactly how good it is. The taste of a city’s finest work, finally given the stage it has always deserved.

“Cape Town did not need anyone to teach it how to eat. This city has been a food capital for generations, carried by ordinary people doing extraordinary things with a stove and a bit of fire. Taste of Cape Town is not us bringing something to the city. It is the city bringing itself to a stage built in its honour. This one is ours, and in November we want every Capetonian to feel it.” Says Bonnke Shipalana, Group CEO, The Allure Group

WHAT TO EXPECT

Taste of Cape Town 2026 brings together a curated selection of the city’s finest restaurants, each presenting signature dishes created for the festival. A full chef programme of live-fire demonstrations, Cook School masterclasses, and exclusive sessions will place the Cape’s most celebrated culinary voices on a single stage. Around them, a curated artisan market will showcase the region’s most exciting small food and wine producers, alongside a programmed music experience and a premium VIP offering that sets a new benchmark for hospitality at a live event in this country. The full restaurant, chef, and programme lineup will be announced in stages from July 2026.

Taste of Cape Town 2026 is powered by Independent Media, the festival’s Official Media Partner, carrying the city’s story across print, digital, and broadcast to millions. Together they give a homegrown celebration the reach it deserves.

The fire, the flavour, the music, the people. 28 and 29 November, Green Point Cricket Club. This one is ours. Come and claim it.

Feed Every Sense.Cape Town doesn’t do ordinary. And neither should your brand.
Taste of Cape Town is South Africa’s most immersive food and lifestyle festival, two days at Green Point Cricket Club where the country’s finest restaurants, boldest chefs, and most exciting producers come together to create something that goes far beyond a food event. Every plate, every pour, every moment is designed to feed all five senses. This is where brands don’t just show up. They come alive.

The opportunity

Over 12,000 passionate, food-obsessed, high-income South Africans will walk through the gates of Taste of Cape Town on 28–29 November 2026. They are not passive attendees. They are active discoverers, people who seek out new flavours, follow chefs by name, share every remarkable meal, and make purchase decisions based on experience. They are LSM 8–10. They are exactly who you want to reach.
And at Taste of Cape Town, you reach them at the moment they are most open to
everything.

Why Taste of Cape Town?

A world-class franchise, rooted in Cape Town. Taste of Cape Town is part of the global Taste Festivals family, the same brand that fills Regent’s Park with 55,000 Londoners every June and draws 25,000 food lovers to Dubai each February. The credibility is global. The audience is ours.

An audience that is genuinely engaged. Our visitors don’t browse. They buy, they taste, they share, and they come back. They are financially comfortable, socially active, and deeply invested in Cape Town’s food and lifestyle culture. A brand moment at Taste of Cape Town doesn’t end when the festival closes, it lives on in the content they create, the conversations they have, and the products they seek out afterwards.

Full-spectrum marketing reach. Every partner benefits from inclusion in our pre-event marketing campaign, across our website, weekly email newsletters reaching a growing subscriber base, organic social content, paid digital campaign, OOH placements across Cape Town, PR and media coverage, editorial reach through our Official Media Partner Independent Media (publisher of the Cape Argus, Cape Times, The Star, House & Garden, Conde Nast and the IOL platform) and broadcast reach through our Official Broadcast Partner the SABC Group, spanning five television channels, 19 radio stations, and the SABC+ streaming platform. Your brand is in market long before the festival opens, and the conversation continues long after it closes.

A sensory platform, not a standard sponsorship. Feed Every Sense is more than our tagline. It is the brief every brand activation at Taste of Cape Town must answer.
What does your brand taste like? Sound like? Feel like? Look like in the hands of someone who genuinely loves food? We work with our partners to design activations that are immersive, memorable, and worthy of this stage.

Partnership opportunities

Whether you are an artisan producer introducing your product to a new audience, an established South African brand deepening your connection with a premium consumer, or a global brand entering the South African lifestyle market, there is a place for you at Taste of Cape Town.

Title Sponsor — One brand. Full naming association. The deepest possible integration across every element of the festival, on-site and on-air.

Category Sponsor — Exclusive ownership of your category. On-site activation, campaign inclusion, and the confidence that no competitor will share your space.

Artisan Producer — A curated market of South Africa’s most exciting small food and beverage producers. If you make something extraordinary, this is where extraordinary people find you.

Restaurant Partner — Cape Town’s finest, presenting their best. If you are a restaurant that belongs at this table, we want to hear from you.

Let’s talk

Taste of Cape Town is a first-of-its-kind event for South Africa and the brands that come in at the beginning will own the association for years to come. The best brand partnerships are not transactions. They are relationships. We build ours to last.
