TICKET TERMS AND CONDITIONS | Taste of Cape Town

A. ABOUT THE EVENT

A.1 Taste of Cape Town (the “Event”) is organised and presented by The Allure Group (Pty) Ltd in partnership with Mari Group (the “Organiser”).
A.2 The Event will take place at Green Point Cricket Club, 111 Vlei Road, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005, on Saturday, 28 November 2026 and Sunday, 29 November 2026.
A.3 Session times are as follows:
Saturday, 28 November 2026: 11:00 to 22:00.
Sunday, 29 November 2026: 09:00 to 21:00.
A.4 The Event runs as one continuous Session per day. All Event Ticket holders must vacate the venue at the close of each Session.
A.5 A valid Event Ticket is required for entry and grants admission to the Event on the date stated on the ticket.
A.6 All Event Ticket holders are bound by these Terms and Conditions, by the rules of the venue, and by any additional notices, signage or instructions issued by the Organiser at the venue.

B. TICKETS AND ENTRY

B.1 There shall be no admission to the Event without a valid Event Ticket.
B.2 Tickets are valid only for the date stated on the ticket. It is the holder’s responsibility to check the details of the ticket on receipt, as errors cannot always be rectified after the fact.
B.3 Tickets are not transferable, not exchangeable, and may not be resold, altered, defaced, or used as prizes in competitions, giveaways or lotteries without the prior written consent of the Organiser. Any such action shall render the ticket void, and the holder may be refused entry to, or removed from, the Event.
B.4 Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced. The Organiser will not be responsible for incorrect, counterfeit or altered tickets, or for tickets purchased from any party other than the Organiser’s authorised ticketing platform.
B.5 Last entry to the Event is 60 (sixty) minutes before the published closing time of each Session.
B.6 Readmission to the Event after exit is not permitted, save where the ticket type expressly provides for re entry.
B.7 The Organiser reserves the right to recall any ticket, and to refuse admission to any person holding a ticket that, in the Organiser’s reasonable opinion, is invalid, counterfeit, altered, or obtained in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
B.8 Tickets may not be purchased by traders for the purpose of resale at a profit. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel any ticket purchased in suspected breach of this clause without notice and without refund.

C. CHILDREN AND PERSONS UNDER 18

Children aged 12 and under
C.1 Each adult Event Ticket holder may, on arrival at the venue, apply at the box office for a maximum of 2 (two) complimentary “Under 12 Free” tickets for accompanying children aged 12 (twelve) years or younger. Complimentary tickets are issued at the discretion of the Organiser, subject to capacity, and on production of the adult’s valid Event Ticket.
C.2 By applying for an Under 12 Free ticket, the adult Event Ticket holder confirms that he or she is the parent, legal guardian or nominated responsible person of the child (the “Responsible Person”), and accepts full responsibility for the supervision, conduct and wellbeing of that child throughout the visit.
C.3 A child holding an Under 12 Free ticket may only enter and remain at the Event in the company of the Responsible Person who applied for the ticket. Children attempting to enter or remain at the Event without their accompanying Responsible Person will be denied entry, or will be escorted from the venue.

Persons aged 13 to 17
C.4 Persons aged between 13 (thirteen) and 17 (seventeen) years (inclusive) require a paid adult Event Ticket. They must be accompanied at all times by a Responsible Person aged 21 (twenty one) years or older who holds a valid Event Ticket. Unaccompanied persons under the age of 18 will not be admitted.
C.5 By purchasing a ticket for a person aged 13 to 17, the purchaser confirms that he or she is the parent, legal guardian or Responsible Person of the minor in question, and assumes full responsibility for that minor for the duration of the Event.
Supervision and limits
C.6 The Organiser reserves the right to limit the number of children or persons under 18 per Responsible Person where, in its reasonable opinion, this is necessary for safety, supervision or capacity management. As a guideline, no Responsible Person should be responsible for more than 6 (six) persons aged 17 or under at any one time.
C.7 Persons under the age of 18 may not, under any circumstances, purchase or consume alcohol at the Event. The Organiser, its staff and licensed traders apply a strict age verification policy and may refuse service or remove any person found to be in breach. Valid government issued photographic identification must be produced on request.

D. FOOD, DRINK AND ALCOHOL

D.1 A wide selection of food and beverages is available for purchase at the Event. Inclusions, where applicable to specific ticket types, are as published at the time of purchase.
D.2 No outside food or beverages may be brought into the Event. Reasonable exceptions may be permitted, at the discretion of the Organiser and venue security, for documented medical, infant or specific dietary requirements.
D.3 Alcohol will be sold only to persons aged 18 (eighteen) years and older. Valid government issued photographic identification must be produced on request. The Organiser, licensed traders and security staff reserve the right to refuse the sale or service of alcohol to any guest who, in their reasonable opinion, is intoxicated, behaving inappropriately, or unable to produce valid identification.
D.4 The Event is licensed for the on site consumption of alcohol only. Alcoholic beverages may not be removed from the Event premises.

E. EVENT RULES, CONDUCT AND SAFETY

E.1 The Event is held outdoors. Guests are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring sun protection.
E.2 As a condition of entry, all attendees and their belongings are subject to security searches on entry to, and exit from, the Event. Items deemed unsafe, prohibited, illegal, or capable of causing disruption will be confiscated. Any attendee who refuses a search may be denied entry.
E.3 The following items are prohibited at the Event:
- – Outside food and beverages, save for the limited exceptions set out in clause D.2.
- – Glass bottles and glass containers.
- – Illegal substances, nitrous oxide, and any item or substance prohibited by South African law.
- – Weapons, sharp objects, and any item that may, in the reasonable opinion of the Organiser, pose a risk to public safety.
- – Drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles.
- – Sound systems, megaphones, air horns, and amplification equipment.
- – Fireworks, flares, lanterns, blow torches, and any open flame.
- – Professional photographic, video and audio recording equipment, save with the prior written consent of the Organiser.
- – Unauthorised goods, merchandise or promotional material, including any item bearing the Event or Organiser branding without consent.
- – Animals of any kind, save for trained service animals accompanying a person living with a disability or a visual impairment, where prior written notification has been given to the Organiser at info@tasteofcapetown.co
Conduct
E.5 The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the Event, any person who:
- – is in breach of these Terms and Conditions;
- – is committing, or has committed, a criminal offence;
- – is, in the reasonable opinion of the Organiser, intoxicated, under the influence of illegal substances, or behaving in a disorderly, aggressive, antisocial or unsafe manner;
- – is behaving in a manner that compromises the safety, comfort or enjoyment of other guests, staff or traders;
- – fails to comply with the instructions of staff, security or other officials; or
- – engages in unauthorised trading, promotion or commercial activity.
Medical and emergency
E.6 Medical support services will be on duty for the duration of each Session. Attendees requiring assistance should approach any member of staff or proceed to the nearest medical point, which will be clearly signposted.

E.7 In the event of an emergency, all attendees must follow the instructions of staff, security and emergency officials promptly.

F. PHOTOGRAPHY, FILMING AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

F.1 CCTV cameras operate across the venue for security and public safety purposes.
F.2 By purchasing an Event Ticket and entering the Event, you acknowledge and agree that:
- (a) you may be photographed, filmed or recorded as a guest attending the Event;
- (b) your image, likeness and voice may be captured, edited and used by the Organiser, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, licensors and authorised third parties, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world and in perpetuity, for any purpose connected to the Event and to the broader Taste Festivals brand and the events organised, promoted or licensed under that brand. Such purposes include marketing, promotion, editorial, broadcast, social media and archival use; and
- (c) no payment, credit or further consent will be due to you in respect of such use.
F.3 The Organiser respects your right to privacy and processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). The lawful basis for the processing described above is your consent (given by purchasing a ticket and entering the Event), together with the legitimate interests of the Organiser and its partners in promoting, recording and archiving the Event.
Opt out: If you do not wish to appear in featured promotional photography or video footage, you may notify the Organiser in writing in advance of the Event by emailing privacy@tasteofcapetown.co, or you may approach a member of the production team on arrival.
Reasonable steps will be taken to avoid filming or photographing you in featured promotional content. The Organiser cannot, however, guarantee that you will not appear in incidental crowd footage, in CCTV recordings, or in photographs or footage taken by other guests, accredited media or third parties present at the Event.
F.4 For full information on how the Organiser collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information, including your rights as a data subject under POPIA, please refer to the Privacy Policy published at www.tasteofcapetown.co.

G. LIABILITY

G.1 Attendance at the Event is at the guest’s own risk.
G.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the Organiser, nor any of its directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, partners, sponsors, licensors or service providers, will be liable for any loss, damage, theft or injury (including any consequential or indirect loss) suffered by a guest at, or in connection with, the Event, save for:
- (d) liability for death or personal injury caused by the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Organiser, its employees or agents acting within the scope of their employment;
- (e) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, or any other applicable law; and
- (f) liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
G.3 Each guest is responsible for his or her personal property at all times. The Organiser will not be responsible for any item lost, stolen or damaged at the Event.
G.4 Each guest is responsible for his or her own travel and accommodation arrangements. The Organiser will not be liable for any travel, accommodation or related cost arising from the cancellation, postponement, abandonment, curtailment or relocation of the Event.
G.5 Guests are advised to consider obtaining their own travel and event insurance.
G.6 The exclusions and limitations contained in this clause G are reasonable having regard to the nature of the Event and the price of the ticket. Your specific attention is drawn to them in accordance with section 49 of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

H. CANCELLATION, POSTPONEMENT AND REFUNDS

H.1 All ticket sales are final. Save as expressly provided in this clause H, no refund, cancellation or exchange will be granted after a ticket has been purchased.
H.2 No refund will be issued for:
- – late arrival, including arrival after last entry, that results in the guest receiving less than the full Session;
- – failure or inability to attend the Event for any reason personal to the guest;
- – tickets, vouchers or inclusions that are unused, in whole or in part; or
- – tickets that are lost, stolen or otherwise rendered unusable through no fault of the Organiser.
Postponement. If the Event is postponed, in whole or in part, your ticket will remain valid for the rescheduled date. If you are unable, or choose not, to attend the rescheduled Event, you will be entitled to a refund of the face value of your ticket on application to the Organiser within 14 (fourteen) days of the rescheduled date being announced. No refund will be made in respect of any other expenditure.
Full or partial cancellation before opening. If the Event is cancelled in its entirety, or if the day of the Event to which your ticket relates is cancelled before the gates open on that day, you will be entitled to a refund of the face value of your ticket. No refund will be made in respect of any other expenditure.
Abandonment after opening. No refund will be made if the Event opens but is later abandoned, curtailed or interrupted, including as a result of inclement weather, force majeure, government or regulatory directive, public safety incident, or any other event beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser.
H.3 Refunds, where due, will be processed using the original method of payment within a reasonable period after the announcement of cancellation or postponement, and will be limited to the face value of the ticket. The Organiser will not refund booking fees, transaction fees, travel, accommodation or any other ancillary expenditure.
H.4 Where tickets are purchased through a third party ticketing platform, the refund terms of that platform will apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions. In the event of conflict, the third party platform terms will prevail in respect of the refund process.

I. FINAL PROVISIONS

Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, or with the Event, will be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Western Cape
Division, Cape Town.
Contact and complaints. Any query, complaint or request relating to the Event or to these Terms and Conditions may be submitted in writing to info@tasteofcapetown.co. The Organiser will acknowledge receipt within a reasonable period and will respond as soon as is reasonably practicable.
Amendments. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Material changes will not apply retrospectively to tickets already purchased, save where required by law or where the change is to the guest’s benefit. The current version of these Terms and Conditions will be published at www.tasteofcapetown.co.
Severability. If any clause of these Terms and Conditions is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that clause will be severed to the extent necessary, and the remaining clauses will continue in full force and effect.
Consumer Protection Act. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit or exclude any right that a guest enjoys under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, or any other law that may not lawfully be excluded or limited.
