There is a particular kind of craving that has nothing to do with an empty stomach.

It is the craving that seizes you when wood smoke drifts across a crowded market and your feet stop before your mind does. When a chef places something before you that you have never encountered, and you know even before you taste it that something important is about to happen. When a musician hits the note the crowd did not know they were waiting for, and the air itself changes.

That craving? Cape Town has always understood it. And on 28 and 29 November 2026, at the spectacular Green Point Cricket Club, where the Atlantic Ocean breathes across the grounds and reminds you exactly where on earth you are, Taste of Cape Town 2026 intends to feed it.

This is Africa’s most sensory food and lifestyle festival, where the finest South African flavours, live music that moves through you, culinary arts at their most dazzling, intoxicating aromas layered across open air, and hands-on craft experiences collide over one extraordinary weekend in Cape Town.

Produced by The Allure Group, Taste of Cape Town takes its place at Green Point Cricket Club with a vision that raises the bar for what a festival on this continent can be. This is not a food fair with a stage in the corner. It is our intent to stage the most ambitious food and lifestyle experience ever seen on African soil, built around the complete sensory architecture of what it means to truly eat, hear, see, smell, and touch something extraordinary.

“Cape Town is one of the world’s great food cities. We are not building a food fair, we are building the definitive food and lifestyle experience on this continent. Taste of Cape Town exists to set a standard, and in November 2026, we intend to set it in a way this city will not forget.” — Bonnke Shipalana, CEO at The Allure Group

Taste of Cape Town 2026 will be powered by Independent Media, South Africa’s leading multi-platform content company in conjunction with Condé Nast, reaching millions of readers across print, digital, and broadcast. Together, they bring unmatched editorial authority, audience reach, and content firepower to amplify the festival’s voice from Cape Town to the world.

“Independent Media is proud to power a festival that celebrates African excellence, puts South African talent on the world stage, and creates memories that our audiences will be talking about for years. This is the kind of story we exist to tell.” — Independent Media, Official Media Partner, Taste of Cape Town 2026

The chef roster for 2026 will be announced in stages from July. What can be confirmed now is this: the standard being set here is not a regional one. Cape Town is one of the world’s great food cities and this festival will prove it to anyone who has yet to arrive.

Early bird tickets are now available at www.tasteofcapetown.com. VIP festival experiences and chef masterclass tickets will be released in phases from June 2026.  For more information, email info@thealluregroup.co.za
